LYING 090/270DEGS. GOOD SONAR CONTACT. (HMS FAWN, HI 3). BR STD. H1310/87/31 13.8.87 DIVED ON 6.5.87. CONFIRMED AS WK OF FARFIELD. LIES WITH LIST OF 80 DEGS TO PORT. INTACT FROM BOW TO AFTER COMBING OF AFTER HATCH. STERN SUPERSTRUCTURE AND ENGINE ROOM IS TOTALLY DESTROYED AND FLAT ON SEABED. MIDSHIPS SUPERSTRUCTURE REMAINS INTACT AND CARGO OF STONE IS SPILLED OUT OF OPEN HATCHES ON TO THE SEABED. HIGHEST POINT, THE STBD SIDE OF FLYING BRIDGE, STANDS SOME 9MTRS ABOVE THE SEABED. SCOUR AT STERN WITH DEPTH OF 50MTRS. (P L SMITH, 31.7.87).
