The attack also claimed ROANOKE (UKHO 7178) which has been identified as a nearby wreck to the north.Archival Analysis: NORMANDY COAST was sunk by U1055 on 11 Jan 1945. Survivor stated ship was hit aft and settled by the stern (TNA ADM199/2148). It is noted the stern of this wreck is separated from the rest of the wreck. Wrecksite.eu record states that the wreck is believed to be SS NORMANDY COAST. Means of identification by divers is not given in detail but stated as
