STILL INTACT AND HER HOLDS STILL HAVE COAL IN THEM. (A CORKILL).

Circumstances of loss

OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY FLORENCE STEAMSHIP CO (MESSERS J & J MACK), LIVERPOOL. BUILT BY T B SCATH & CO, RUTHERGLEN. 70 HP COMPOUND ENGINES BUILT BY W KING & CO, GLASGOW. OVERLOADING OF COAL WOULD NOT ALLOW THE AFTER HATCH TO BE SECURED CORRECTLY. A TARPAULIN WAS USED TO KEEP OUT THE ELEMENTS. LATER THE SEAS INCREASED, THE VESSEL TOOK WATER AFT AND LATER SANK. OF A CREW OF 11, ONLY 1 MAN SURVIVED. (A CORKILL).
