H4199/78 30.8.78 WK LOCATED 27.2.78 IN 510218N, 011243E [OGB] USING TRISPONDER [2 LOP]. NOT EXAMINED CLOSELY DUE LACK OF TIME. DCS3 HT 2MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 22.4MTRS. OBVIOUSLY WELL SUNK INTO MUD SEABED. SONAR TRACE TOO VAGUE TO PERMIT LENGTH AND ORIENTATION ASSESSMENT. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 35/77). CHART AS WK 20MTRS. BR STD. HH090/921/01 29.11.00 NOT LOCATED BY DCS3, MAGNETOMETER OR E/S. GEN DEPTH 21.5MTRS. (NP 1016, HI 921). AMEND TO FOUL. BR STD. SEP 2016/000091764 19.4.17 EXAM'D 20.7.16 IN 5102.310N, 0112.606E [WGD]. SANK FOLLOWING A COLLISION WITH GERMAN IRONCLAD 'KONIG WILHELM' WHILE TRYING TO AVOID TWO BARQUES CROSSING IN FRONT OF THE SQUADRON. SANK WITHIN EIGHT MINUTES WITH HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE. (DODS). [SEE ALSO WK 13432].
