ONE 3-PDR GUN, SMALLER GUN AFT. WAS ESCORTING LANCS & YORKS RAILWAY SS NIDD TO CALAIS. WHILST MANOEUVERING TO ENGAGE A SURFACED ENEMY SUBMARINE (UB 274) RAN UNDER NIDD'S BOWS AND WAS STUCK ON PORT SIDE. VESSEL QUICKLY SANK.
