H2925/83 11.1.84 LARGE WK EXAM'D 30.7.84 IN 584222N, 035334W [OGB] USING SYLEDIS. LEAST E/S DEPTH 94 IN GEN DEPTH 108MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 14MTRS, LENGTH 120MTRS. LYING 170/350 DEG. (BUE SUBSEA, HI 204). BR STD. 26.6.97 VESSEL CONFIRMED AS KING EDWARD VII. SEVERAL DIVERS GIVE DEPTH TO WK AS 115MTRS. WK INVERTED. IDENTIFIED BY SIZE AND RECOVERY OF MILITARY STYLE LAMP. IN ADDITION 6 INCH GUN BARRELS WERE NOTED PROTRUDING FROM UNDER THE HULL. BOXES OF SHELLS WERE NOTED ON THE SEABED. (L BISHOP, TELECON 26.6.97).

STRUCK A MINE LAID BY GERMAN RAIDER SMS MOEWE IN W ENTRANCE TO PENTLAND FIRTH. WAS TAKEN IN TOW BUT SANK 9 HOURS LATER AFTER BEING ABANDONED BY ENTIRE SHIPS COMPANY.
