VESSEL, BUILT 1928. WHILST ON PATROL S OF CAPO SPARTIVENTO WAS CAUGHT ON THE SURFACE & RAMMED BY ITALIAN DESTROYER 'UGOLINO VIVALDI'. WHILE THE VESSEL REMAINED AWASH, THE CREW ABANDONED SHIP BEFORE IT FINALLY SUNK. (ALLIED WARSHIP CASUALTIES, MED. FEB 1952, BENEATH THE WAVES).
