5.9.83 GERMAN OFFICIAL HISTORY INDICATES THAT C 34 WAS FIRST SIGHTED ON SURFACE IN 595100N, 010500W, BY U 52, AND SUNK ABOUT AN HOUR LATER. (NHB). H2334/84 18.12.85 NOT LOCATED DURING ROUTINE AREA SONAR SEARCH. CONSIDERED THAT CONTACT IS NO LONGER CLOSE TO ITS QUOTED POSN, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WRECKAGE HAS MOVED SINCE 1917 IN THE RELATIVELY STRONG TIDAL STREAMS IN THE AREA. (NP 1008, HI 244) AMENDED TO DEAD. NCA.
