8.7.58 WAS CUT IN TWO WHEN IN COLLISION, IN FOG, WITH GERMAN SS 'LUDWIGSHAVEN' WHILE ON PASSAGE DONGES TO ANTWERP. (LL, 8.7.58). BOTH SECTIONS REMAINED AFLOAT AND DRIFTED. BOW SECTION WAS SUNK BY FRENCH NAVY [SEE 18748] AND STERN SECTION GROUNDED ON CASQUET BANK AND LATER SANK.
