28.1.41 BUILT 1926 BY BURNTISLAND SHIPBUILDING CO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY BRITISH & CONTINENTAL SS CO. TRIPLE-EXPANSION ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE THE TYNE, VIA OBAN, TO LEIXOS. ATTACKED AND DAMAGED BY GERMAN AIRCRAFT ON 28.1.41. SHIP ANCHORED IN LOCH SWILLY BUT WAS FOUND TO BE TAKING IN WATER & HAD TO BE RUN AGROUND. LATER SHE BROKE IN TWO & SANK. (DODS, SII).
