VESSEL, BUILT 1943 BY THE BETHLEHEM FAIRFIELD SHIPYARD, LAID DOWN AS 'PHILIP F.THOMAS', LATER IN 1951 'MOUNT VERNON' AND 1952 'SEAWORLD'. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY EASTERN SEAWAYS CORPORATION. ON PASSAGE FROM NARVIK FOR BALTIMORE. SWAMPED BY HEAVY SEAS, BROKE IN TWO AND SANK OFF LOFOTEN ISLANDS. (DODS, LIBERTY SHIPS).
