INTERCEPTED BY GERMAN RAIDER STEIR, EX- CAIRO, & BLOCKADE RUNNER TANNENFELS. STEPHEN HOPKINS WAS INTERCEPTED & SANK, BUT DID NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT, SINKING THE STEIR WITH GUNFIRE FROM HER ONE 4IN GUN. 31 OF HER 41 CREW WERE LOST. (THE LIBERTY SHIPS, DODS & LLWW2)
