EX-GLADYS '88. BUILT IN 1976 BY HITACHI ZOSEN, MAIZURU WORKS, MAIZURU. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY MARE SHIPPING INC, LAUREL SEA TRANSPORT LTD, NASSAU, BAHAMAS. EIGHT CYLINDER OIL ENGINE OF 20000BHP, SINGLE SHAFT. SUFFERED STRUCTURAL FAILURE ON STBD SIDE IN STORM FORCE 10 WINDS AND 10MTR SEAS. AN IMPACT WAS FELT AND VESSEL DEVELOPED A LIST THAT LATER INCREASED TO 30 DEGS. LATER BROKE IN TWO AND SANK. CAUSED MAJOR POLLUTION OF NW SPAIN. ESTIMATED THAT 10-20000 TONS OF OIL WERE SPILT.
