BUILT IN 1935 BY HARLAND & WOLFF LTD, BELFAST. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY UNION CASTLE LINE. 8 CYLINDER, 2 STROKE OIL ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE NEW YORK FOR GLASGOW. WAS RUNNING A ZIG-ZAG AT 16 KNOTS WHEN SHE DROVE ASHORE NEAR NAVE ISLAND, ISLAY. BROKE IN TWO WITHIN 24 HOURS AND EVENTUALLY WENT TO PIECES. CREW RECOVERED BY PORT ASKAIG LIFEBOAT. (SIBI).
