VESSEL, BUILT 1975 BY CANTIERI NAVALI DI PESARO, PESARO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY ANONIMA RAVENNATE DI ARMAMENTO. SPA. (ARA). ON PASSAGE FROM CIVITAVECCHIA TO THE ADRIATIC. HAD FIRE & EXPLOSION IN NO.2 TANK. WAS ABANDONED BY CREW AND TAKEN IN TOW, LISTING BADLY, BY M SALVAGE TUG 'MONTE FAITO'. EVENTUALLY SANK. DREDGING COMPANY ENGAGED TO DREDGE BOTTOM TO FORM A PIT SO WK COULD SINK DEEPER TO PROVIDE A SAFE CLEARANCE. (MSD).
