BOTH SECTIONS SINKING. (LL 217). 18.11.74 BOW IN 314300S, 302800E AT 0800 13.11.74 WITH TUG STANDING BY. STERN SECTION SANK AT 1645 13.11.74 IN 305700S, 315000E. BOW SANK AT 1540 14.11.74 IN 314300S, 302800E. (LL 217 & MSD).

BUILT IN 1955 BY ERIKSBERGS M/V A/B, GOTHENBERG. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY PISCES NAV CORP. PASSAGE FALMOUTH FOR BANDAR MAHSAHR. INVOLVED IN COLLISION WITH NORWEGIAN BULK/OIL MV OBO QUEEN. EXPLOSIONS IMMEDIATELY ERUPTED AND VESSEL ABANDONED BY 41 MAN CREW. WAS CUT COMPLETELY IN TWO TO THE CENTRELINE IN THE WAY OF NO 3 TANK. WAS TOWED TO PORT ELIZABETH ROADS BY FVS AND HANDED OVER TO M TUG FREISLAND. TOW TO DURBAN COMMENCED BUT VESSEL BROKE IN TWO 9-10 NOV. STERN SECTION SANK TWO DAYS LATER AND THE BOW WAS SCUTTLED ON 14 NOV. (MSD).
