BUILT IN 1897 BY PALMERS' SB & IRON CO LTD, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY HALL LINE LTD. TWO BOILERS, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 402NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE BOMBAY FOR LIVERPOOL. GROUNDED ON PLUCKINGTON BANK ABOUT 350YDS ABOUT WSW (MAG) OF THE N PIERHEAD RUNSWICK DOCK ENTRANCE. FOUR HOURS AFTER GOING ASHORE THE VESSEL BROKE HER BACK AND ONLY PART OF THE CARGO WAS DISCHARGED. LATER DISPERSED. (SIBI).
