15.10.41 BUILT IN 1920 BY HARLAND & WOLFF. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY HAIN SS CO LTD. TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 517NHP. PASSAGE PEPEL FOR CARDIFF. LEFT FREETOWN ON 15.10.41. NOTHING MORE WAS HEARD OF THE SHIP OR THE 48 MEN ON BOARD UNTIL A GERMAN BROADCAST IN DEC 1942 CLAIMED SHE HAD BEEN SUNK BY A SUBMARINE. (DODS, LLOYDS WAR LOSSES WW2 & WW2 BR MSL).
