HH100/351/03 5.10.90 HH100/351/03 5.10.90 WK OF A SUBMARINE, THOUGHT TO BE GERMAN WW2 TYPE, LOCATED 504000N, 050700W, APPROX. DIVED ON IN 1989 AND 1990. IT IS INTACT, LYING SLIGHTLY TO PORT ON A SANDY SEABED IN A GEN DEPTH 58MTRS.TORPEDO TUBES ARE CLOSED, STBD ANCHOR IN ITS STOWAGE AND THE CONNING TOWER AND FOR'D HATCHES ARE BOTH OPEN. THERE IS AN ASDIC DOME ON FOR'D PART OF THE KEEL. A SNORKEL LIES ACROSS STBD SIDE OF VESSEL AND A LARGE D.F. AERIAL LIES BROKEN OFF AT BASE OF CONNING TOWER. NO GUN SEEN. STEEL PROPELLERS ARE STILL IN PLACE. A 5 - 6FT DIAMETER HOLE EXISTS ON STBD SIDE JUST AFT OF CONNING TOWER. FURTHER DIVES INTENDED. (L F WARD, 12.9.90). HH100/351/03 13.12.90 HH100/351/03 13.12.90 THIS WK THOUGHT TO BE THAT OF U 1021. (NSD (FOREIGN DOCS SECTION), D/NHB/9/2/17S, 28.11.90 - WHICH GIVES FULL ARGUMENTS FOR THIS SUPPOSITION). - CHART AS NDW - G/S. HH090/799/02 22.11.01 HH090/799/02 22.11.01 NOT LOCATED, DISPROVED.
