Circumstances of loss
BUILT IN 1912 BY DANZIG SHIPYARD. HEAVY OIL ENGINES OF 1400 BHP, TWIN SHAFT. SANK AFTER BEING RAMMED BY BRITISH LIGHT CRUISER HMS BIRMINGHAM OFF FAIR ISLE. WAS THE FIRST U BOAT TO BE SUNK IN WW1. (WARSHIPS OF WW1).
