Circumstances of loss

BUILT PRIOR TO THE OUTBREAK OF WW1 BY GERMANIAWERFT, KIEL. OIL ENGINES OF 225 BHP, TWIN SHAFT. DURING SECOND PATROL SNAGGED SUBMARINE NETS AT THE N END OF THE VARNE. THIS WAS OBSERVED BY A HMS DRIFTER ROBURN AND HMS GHURKA AND HMS MAORI ATTACKED. THE BOAT WAS DAMAGED AND WITH THE SWITCHBOARD ON FIRE, SURFACED. ALL CREW RECOVERED.
