BUILT IN 1906 BY HARLAND & WOLFF LTD, BELFAST. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY THE ROYAL MAIL STEAM PACKET COMPANY, LONDON. TWIN SHAFT. PASSAGE LIVERPOOL FOR BUENOS AIRES. TORPEDOED BY U-110. CREW AND ALL 870 PASSENGERS RECOVERED BY HM SHIPS MICHAEL & MORESBY. THE DESTROYERS LATER ATTACKED THE SUBMARINE AND FORCED IT TO THE SURFACE. CREW OF 43 ABANDONED BUT ONLY 4 SURVIVED THE COLD WATERS.
