RAN ASHORE SOME 4 MILES FROM THE COAST, IN RICHARDS BAY, NEAR THE UMHLATUZI RIVER, WHILE ON PASSAGE DURBAN FOR DELAGOA BAY AND MAURITIUS. WAS ABANDONED BY CREW AND PASSENGERS. LATER DRIFTED OFF AND GROUNDED AGAIN ON A SANDBANK SOME 7 MILES AWAY AND BECAME A TOTAL WRECK. (DODS).
