NCA. 2.9.98 IRON PLATES LIE AMID THE KELP-COVERED GULLIES THAT RUN OUT TO SEA FROM THE GREYSTONE. MAJOR PART OF WKGE IS UNDER SAND ON E SIDE OF ROCK. STRUCK THE GREYSTONE LEDGE IN FOG AND SANK. WAS ON PASSAGE BATUM TO HAMBURG. (K MCDONALD). VESSEL, BUILT 1890, OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY RUSSIAN STEAM NAV. & TRADING CO. LTD. ALL 43 CREW RESCUED. (DIVE SOUTH DEVON [PHOTO] & SHIPWRECK INDEX OF BRITISH ISLES).
