Wreck No: W07179, Place of Loss: Bloody Foreland, Donegal. 7.7km east of, Source of Coordinate: GSI Wreck No_311, Description: UKHO Wreck No.005900062. 3799-ton steel requisitioned liner of Liverpool. Owned by Booth Steamship Co. Ltd. Built in 1904 by Barclay, Curle & Co Ltd., Glasgow. Measured L.355 x B.49 x D.24ft Classed 100 A1 by Lloyd's. En route from New York to Glasgow with a general cargo weighing 5,049 tons, which included steel and copper under captain D.W. Williams. Torpedoed and sunk by German submarine U-53 without warning. One life was lost. Lies in a general depth of 52 metres. Risdon Beazley’s Droxford located the wreck and salvaged 342 tons of copper bars. Wreck surveyed by the Celtic Explorer in 2005 as part of the Irish National Seabed Survey. Wreck measures 45m long, 9m in maximum width and lies in 57m of water.
