VESSEL, [EX 'SUN AMBASSADOR' '90, EX 'VERACRUZ' '90, EX 'FREEPORT' '76, EX 'CARNIVALE' '75, EX 'THEODOR HERZL' '69], BUILT 1957 BY DEUTSCHE WERFT AG, HAMBURG. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY VERACRUZ TRANSPORTATION INC. CAUGHT FIRE AT REFITTING BERTH WHILE UNDERGOING A MAJOR REFURBISHMENT PROGRAMME. THE THOUSANDS OF TONS OF WATER PUMPED ONBOARD DURING THE FIREFIGHTING EFFORT CAUSED HER TO LIST & EVENTUALLY SINK. SUBSEQUENTLY CUT INTO EIGHT SECTIONS, RAISED & REMOVED TO A BREAKERS YARD. (MSD).
