BUILT IN 1928 BY PALMER & CO. BADLY DAMAGED BY DIVE-BOMBING ATTACKS. COMPLEMENT OF OVER 600, TWO KILLED & FIVE WOUNDED. SENT TO SUDA BAY TO MAKE TEMP REPAIRS. BRITISH FORCES COMPELLED TO WITHDRAW BEFORE REPAIRS FINISHED. 'YORK' WAS DESTROYED TO PREVENT FALLING INTO ENEMY HANDS. (DODS).
