MINED. (WW2SL). OIL ENGINE, SINGLE SHAFT. BEACHED AT WHITBURN WHERE SHE BROKE IN TWO. 4 MEN LOST. HAD BEEN REQUISITIONED AS A BLOCKSHIP FOR THE WESTERN APPROACH TO SCAPA FLOW. ON PASSAGE NORTHWARDS WHEN LOST. CARGO OF FUEL OIL PROBABLY FOR THE RN BASE IN THE ISLANDS. BOW SECTION LATER REFLOATED, AND TAKEN TO THE ORKNEYS AND USED AS BLOCKSHIP IN BURRA SOUND.
