BUILT IN 1906 BY SIR R. DIXON & CO WITH TRIPLE-EXPANSION ENGINES OF 752NHP. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY EMPREZA NACIONAL DE NAVEGACAO. PASSAGE MOZAMBIQUE FOR LISBON. VESSEL STRUCK ON THE BELLOWS ROCKS & FOUNDERED. VISIBILITY WAS POOR BUT SEA WAS CALM. SHE REMAINED FAST ON THE ROCKS FOR FOUR DAYS WHEN SHE WAS WASHED OFF BY THE SWELL & SANK IN DEEP WATER. 3 OF THE 800 OR SO PERSONS DROWNED. (DODS)
