MACHINERY BY WALLSEND SLIPWAY CO LTD, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE. PASSAGE NEW YORK FOR PORTSMOUTH. 2 X 3 INCH GUNS. TORPEDOED AND SANK AT ONCE BY THE STERN. REMAINED AFLOAT WITH STERN ON THE SEABED IN 34FMS. EVENTUALLY SUNK BY EXPLOSIVE CHARGES AS WAS A DANGER TO SHIPPING. (N R CHIPCHASE & SIBI).
