EMBARKED WERE THE 172ND INFANTRY COMBAT TEAM 43 DIVISION AND A HARBOUR DEFENCE UNIT. STRUCK A MINE APPROACHING SANTO AND WAS GROUNDED. 5340 MEN GOT SAFELY ASHORE, 2 LIVES LOST.
