BUILT IN 1926 BY CAMMEL LAIRD. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY BLUE STAR LINE. TURBINE ENGINES FOR 16 KNOTS. PASSAGE LIVERPOOL FOR THE RIVER PLATE. TORPEDOED BY U 96. ALL ON BOARD, 1934 PASSENGERS AND 166 CREW WERE LOST. (LL WW2, DODS, & AXIS SUBMARINE SUCCESSES).
