TWO DEGRADED WRECKS, PARTIALLY BURIED WITH DEBRIS ALONG MAIN AXIS. NOT POSSIBLE TO DIFFERENTIATE THE WRECKS FROM EACH OTHER. (CLINTON MARINE, HI 1596). AMEND DW 10.2 MTRS IN REVISED POSITION.

28.9.39 EX-MAMARI III, EX-MAMILUS '33, EX-ZEALANDIC. BUILT IN 1911 BY HARLAND & WOLFF LTD, BELFAST FOR THE SHAW, SAVILLE & ALBION LINE. PURCHASED 28.9.39 AS A FLEET TENDER AND CONVERTED TO REPRESENT HMS HERMES. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY THE ADMIRALTY. TWO DOUBLE BOILERS & TWO SINGLE BOILERS, TWIN QUADRUPLE EXPANSION ENGINES, TWIN SHAFT. PASSAGE FOR CHATHAM AFTER THE REAL HMS HERMES HAD BEEN SUNK OFF CEYLON ON 9.4.41. STRANDED ON WK OF AHAMO & WHILST AGROUND WAS TORPEDOED BY A GERMAN E BOAT.
