VESSEL, BUILT 1905 BY PALMER & CO, WAS TORPEDOED & SUNK BY A SUBMARINE 35M SW OF PENMARC'H. VESSEL WAS ABANDONED & THE SUBMARINE SURFACED & BEGAN SHELING THE 2 LIFEBOATS, 1 BOAT WAS SUNK. 9 WERE KILLED & SEVERAL INJURED. OWNED AT THE TIME OF LOSS BY ELDER DEMPSTER LINE. (DODS). SUNK WHILE ON PASSAGE FROM MONTREAL TO CHERBOURG. (LL WW1).
