BUILT 1901 BY HARLAND & WOLFF, BELFAST WITH 8 CYLINDER QUADRUPLE ENGINE OF 1524HP, TWIN SHAFT, 8 BOILERS. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY OCEANIC STEAM NAVIGATION CO. (WHITE STAR). PASSAGE NEW YORK FOR LIVERPOOL WITH CARGO OF MACHINERY AND METAL FOR FORD MOTOR COMPANY, REFRIGERATED CARGO, FRUIT AND PASSENGERS. VESSEL WAS ON LAST VOYAGE HAVING BEEN SOLD TO AN ITALIAN BREAKERS. DRIVEN ASHORE IN A GALE AT ROCHES POINT WHILE ENTERING CORK. SHE WAS SOLD TO SALVORS PETERSEN & ALBEK, COPENHAGEN. UPPERWORKS WERE CUT AWAY, 20 SALVORS WERE KILLED BY FUMES DURING SALVAGE OPERATIONS.
