TORPEDOED & SUNK BY ENEMY SUBMARINE 6.2.43. 38 OFFICERS & RATINGS KILLED. (DODS). VESSEL, WHILST ON ESCORT DUTY TO CONVOY KMS8. ON PASSAGE FROM UK FOR NORTH AFRICA. TORPEDOED & SUNK BY GERMAN AIRCRAFT 60M NE OF ORAN. 50 MEN RESCUED [FIRST CANADIAN WARSHIP TO BE SUNK IN THE MED. & BY AIRCRAFT]. (THE WAR AT SEA WWII, WARSHIP LOSSES WWII).
